Q: Is the Cakery Bee a physical bakery?

A: At the present time, The Cakery Bee is an online microbakery.  Our cakes are prepared in a private home kitchen in compliance with the home processing laws established by The New York State Department of Agriculture.  Although we follow the safety guidelines set by the Dept. of Agriculture and ServSaf,  the kitchen is not licensed or inspected as a food establishment.

Q: How far in advance shall I submit a request?

A: I try to book out 1 month in advance. The minimum is two weeks notice.  Smaller orders can be accommodated more frequently. When you know...just send an email or submit an inquiry to be sure.

Q: I want a cake just like a picture I saw online.

A: Great! But just so you know I have a freestyle approach to making cakes.  I like to create unique cakes that are customized for each customer. I use pictures for reference as far as color and certain elements, but I like to add my own special touch to your cake based on your vision. And just an FYI, all of my cakes are buttercream based.

Q: Do you use fondant to cover your cakes?

A: I may use fondant for a few accents on a cake, but I take my icing very seriously. When you taste it you will never want to peel off fondant again.  :)

Q: What flavors do you offer?

A: Did you see our  flavors menu?

Q: Do you offer sugar/ dairy-free and vegan cakes?

A: At the present time we do not offer cakes with dietary restrictions, but check back as we are in the test kitchen trying out new recipes every week.

Q: Do you have brownies?

A: Yes!!! Cookies and brownies were added to our menu of goodies and are available to order.

They are really good too :)

Q: How do I make an inquiry about a cake?

A: First things first. SECURE THE DATE! use the contact form to send a detailed message. Instructions are there on what information to include. Be as detailed as possible to get a proper price quote.

An initial invoice with pricing will be sent via email requesting any additional information needed to place the order.  Please respond as soon as possible.

Once the details of your cake and the event are set,  an invoice will be sent requesting a non-refundable deposit which is required to secure the date.

You have 48 hours to respond to the invoice or the inquiry will be void.
